Treaty
Packaging, content, & e-commerce for NY’s first regenerative hemp farm.
Treaty creates Hemp Extract (CBD) formulas developed according to nature’s prescription. The products are inspired by the Hudson Valley landscape, using a selection of bioregional plants that thrive together in nature and molecularly in the body. They use regenerative farming practices to replenish ecosystems, nurture biodiversity, and build up soil while sequestering carbon.

GT America is versatile and simple, (it has a quiet confidence) It can blend into the background while still conveying important information. We wanted a typeface that would not overpower the beautiful illustration and photography content it would accompany.

Our focus in packaging materials was on the sustainability of the e-commerce shipping box. We used an unprinted craft box with a fully compostable mycelium mushroom tray to protect the product.

We were inspired by vintage botanical drawings which have a realistic and educational feel. We were aiming for scientifically accurate renderings as a connection to nature and the minimal type design and line work refer to traditional medicinal packaging.

Each illustration is a collection of the ingredients used in each of the 4 formulas. The selection of plants is based on how well they thrive together in nature and the effects they’ll have on your body. It was like creating a bouquet or floral arrangement for each box.

Treaty’s Strategy, messaging, and design were a collaboration between Rebecca Zhou, Annie Kreighbaum, and Rob Junge. With Video by Jarod Tabor, Photography by Daniel Dorsa, and Illustrations by Charlotte Delarue.
